Bardic Inspiration & The Spirit of a Storyteller in Every One of Us

Hello Dear Creative Spirit! As solstice approaches and the world keeps spinning, I hope you are able to find ways to enjoy this sometimes bumpy and often wild ride through the cosmos… that you remember how to play and let your creativity shine. Finding ways to explore, reform, and connect through stories can be a worthwhile part of the creative process. It’s something that keeps me experimenting and wondering and showing up.

I’ve recently recorded a session about greeting art with the Spirit of a Storyteller for a sweet Summit about Transcendence with Art & Spirit. The creative process took me on quite a journey through a few different paintings! From a carousel horse to the following piece that went through a dark and gloomy phase before becoming a reclamation of joy.

I’m so glad that I happened to have the camera on for that one to be able to share the energy and experience… the potential and power of the creative processI think this one can be worth watching even if you don’t want to get any art supplies out. Stories are a big part of how we learn, live, and love. Stories have the power to spark the imagination, to wreck or to warm the heart, to discourage or encourage, to corrupt or to connect. May this be a healthy reminder that we can co-create, embody, and transcend our stories.

You’re invited to join us and use the inspiration to blend Art & Spirituality in your own special way. There are 27 other presenters sharing sessions such as:

Here’s an example of another painting I finished recently that holds an intentional energy and feels full of Spirit. May she warm your heart as she looks on with a compassionate gaze and nurtures seeds of love and life. This one seems to hold the essence of Mother Mary and Kuan Yin combined. It was originally titled, “Vita, Mother of the Sun,” which seems appropriate with Solstice season upon us. Now, she whispers that she is also a Mother of Love, a prayer for kindness, a wish for wellness in the body, mind, and spirit of all.

Her blue coloring may have been influenced by a book I read about a woman who had blue skin due to an actual rare condition. In spite of prejudice and abuse, she was a messenger of hope and vessel for love. It was called the Book Woman of Troublesome Creek. I’ve recently added it to the list of book suggestions on my site. She also feels related to the fabulous blooming portraits of women featured in the Born to Bloom Bright book.

May we all find a well of vital life affirming love within as we navigate the rocky roads. May we give our nervous systems a break from the news of an entire planet to tend to what we can here and now (wherever that may be). May we get to the roots to grow healthy, abundant, joyful communities together.
