This podcast is addressing such an important topic to me because I lost touch with the creative genius and went through a period of thinking I was not one of those people who had any creative talent. Thankfully, I now know that creativity is not reserved for a few. It is part of being human. Yes, we are all creative beings!
I love how Kate describes the purpose of the podcast: “The Creative Genius Podcast is 100% devoted to the emergence of creativity in YOU. The “Rhythm” card we drew was from my Soul Songs inspiration card deck. It is a nice reminder to me that even rests are part of creativity! It makes me think of band class way back when and the teacher talking about the importance of the rests within the music. Making time to wonder and witness is part of the creative process. A healthy rhythm includes both output and input, like breathing.

It was painted around the same time that Kate and I had our chat, which was a few weeks before creating a character for a role playing game I’ve been enjoying with my teen boys. I can feel that this helped inspire my character’s essence.
I’m glad that my boys want to share the experience with me. So, I’ve been spending this winter season as a healer wood elf druid of the moon named Zelkova Petaltail Celestina. I learned a new kind of tree while looking for one that started with a z to name my character! We’ve been making up stories together and rolling the dice for some of the outcomes. I’m finding that it is a great way to spend time with teens while exploring various perspectives and possibilities. It’s also interesting to see how their characters are similar or quite different from their usual personalities and preferences.
There are so many ways to tune in to the Creative Genius! I hope you are able to serenade your muses and enjoy the dance.
