Since finishing my book, I’ve been able to give more time to painting again and spend more time in my happy creative space. You’re invited to take a short studio tour with me in the video at the end of this post. I love being able to share freely with you digitally and hope that I may reflect some pure beauty and deep joy to you in the process. I am so honored when someone also chooses to bring my art into their home or office. I still get giddy and super grateful every time! I often greet the blank surface as both a playground and a temple, a place to meet with mystery, explore the wonders and my own wilderness, play with possibility, sing, pray, cry, celebrate and co-create with the life force that flows through all! It’s such a blessing and connection when others appreciate what flows forth as well.
Here are some of the paintings I’ve enjoyed creating this summer. 🙂 Most of the originals and art prints are now available in my online gift shop. You can use coupon code “HANG10” to receive 10% off when you order 2 or more prints together before August 31st, 2018. They are also available printed on various items from my Redbubble Printer shop. I haven’t had time to add them all on tote bags to the shop here on my site, but they have been uploaded to Redbubble for many options including tote bags (I use a different printer for higher quality archival art prints).
These first 3 have the most layers and took the most time to finish. The “Pocket Full of Sunshine” painting went through such a transformation from the layer before that had been sitting forgotten for months. The creative process is so magical! There are 2 versions of that one available as prints because I scanned it before adding the hummingbird moth to the original. You can click the images to enlarge and view more clearly. Enjoy!
The following are from the “Young at Heart” series of 4 playful paintings inspired by the simple joys of summer and childhood. Various toys and scribbles were used while creating these fun paintings! I recorded the playful process for these to share as a new online course. 🙂
These 3 were inspired by simple joys of summer.
The first one below is so simple yet so serene to me. It feels like home… where I lived at MM89 bayside in the Florida Keys during high school. The “Peace Tonight” original sparkles thanks to fine glitter sprinkled within. It also has a playlist that I shared in the prior blog post.
The first 2 below are a diptych (set of 2) that go together.
The first 2 below are a diptych (set of 2) that go together and some of my favorites from this summer! Probably influenced by evening swims in nearby mountain lake and memories of island life, yet also reflecting inner peace and serenity. I also love the last one where I experimented with adding rays of sunshine. It feels refreshing.
