The handmade journal has several decorative paper pages (both scrapbooking papers and recycled papers are used) inside a sewn fabric journal cover. The journal also has a small pocket sewn into the front cover when it is being made.
These are great for gratitude journals, quote collections, mini scrapbooks with pictures, guest books, poetry, funny things kids say, travel notes, bridal or baby shower notes, hopes, dreams, prayers, love letters to life and ourselves... so many lovely possibilities. I keep a guest book in our home and it's so fun to go back and read what visitors have said in the past. My kids and I use them for personal gratitude journals and quote collections. I also use one similar to this for Thanksgiving as a combination guest book and gratitude journal that can be easily taken with me to the celebration, whether at my home or elsewhere, so everyone can add what they are thankful for over the years.
I have another one I use for love letters to life and myself. :)
The journal cover measures approximately 5 x 6 inches. The cover has the word love sewn above the heart on a painted card. It also has a fabric style bookmark with beads and 188 pages. The paper pages are slightly smaller than the covers and vary in size. I like the texture of ripped edges so the pages inside may have some purposely torn edges. Some pages have been painted or stamped as well. The first page with my handwriting giving suggestions for ways to use this keepsake journal is unattached and removable.

This is inspired by the blooming pineapple sage plant in our garden and yellow moths or butterflies that love it along with the words ‘presents’ and ‘presence'' which were collaged into the art from an old dictionary page. The original painting was created as part of “The Present” Thrivival online retreat course.

The original painting this is printed from was inspired by the sparkling sunshine on the creek water by our home and the curling vines during a winter walk along with an idea I heard from Ram Dass that we may “live in love.” For such a seemingly simple piece, it has sparked quite a bit of wonder. I’ve written several questions on the back such as:

Grateful Heart Angel Folk Art Postcards

Angel is another term for messenger. May this messenger inspire and encourage. The postcards are printed from a high resolution scan of an original mixed-media painting. The wings for the angel were made using actual maple leaves. The cornucopia was added with burlap. The bird nest is made of threads. The background is painted over sheet music. The message reads: the grateful heart sits at a continuous feast. May it be so. ♡
I tried to listen and let the angel share kind and encouraging messages. You can place the card on an altar, shelf, or desk or place in the mail to pass it on.
These could also be left in public restrooms, dressing rooms, doctor's waiting rooms, or where ever else you may roam that you'd like to leave a trail spreading seeds of kindness and scattering sweet smiles.
Of course, watermarks are not printed on the cards.
