I looked up one night while pausing with this painting and wondering what to do next. I saw praying hands in front of me on the shelf… which led to this. 💞 I do so love when a marvelous mess of paint magically turns into something I adore and appreciate deeply… that is what I call the “magic and medicine found in art” (which is an online course I’ll be hosting at some point… the vision has been with me a while and evolving). It’s an interesting mix of happy accidents and trusting the inner muse and messenger and the strength and compassion of a healing heart. 💖 It is a painted prayer for all of us. I feel that along with prayers, we are responsible for our actions. I do my best to live as freely and fully as I can in honor of those who’s lives have seemed to short ~ May we live gracefully, joyfully, wonderfully, beautifully, playfully, gratefully.

“Angel Eyes” Art Print
This print is from the original mixed media painting "Angel Eyes." It had a magical presence appear in upper left that makes me think of an angel and a pregnant mother... I'm sure my own experience/story influences what I see, yet it is a very meaningful and healing image. I imagine any woman that has had an unborn child, whether due to choice or miscarriage, sometimes wonders about what might have been. I'm so grateful for my healthy twin boys, yet this has become a sort of tribute to the daughter that I didn't carry full term. Wow! All that from random marks on the initial layer. This is what I mean when I talk about the magic and medicine found in art.

Since it happened to be finished as the moon was full and the words 'full circle' are embedded within it, it is now called "Full Circle." The handmade journal has several decorative paper pages (both scrapbooking papers and recycled papers are used) inside a sewn fabric journal cover. The journal also has a small pocket sewn into the front cover when it is being made.
These are great for gratitude journals, quote collections, mini scrapbooks with pictures, guest books, poetry, funny things kids say, travel notes, bridal or baby shower notes, hopes, dreams, prayers, love letters to life and ourselves... so many lovely possibilities. I keep a guest book in our home and it's so fun to go back and read what visitors have said in the past. My kids and I use them for personal gratitude journals and quote collections. I also use one similar to this for Thanksgiving as a combination guest book and gratitude journal that can be easily taken with me to the celebration, whether at my home or elsewhere, so everyone can add what they are thankful for over the years.

The journal cover measures approximately 5 x 6 inches. The cover has the word love sewn above the heart on a painted card. It also has a fabric style bookmark with beads and 188 pages. The paper pages are slightly smaller than the covers and vary in size. I like the texture of ripped edges so the pages inside may have some purposely torn edges. Some pages have been painted or stamped as well. The first page with my handwriting giving suggestions for ways to use this keepsake journal is unattached and removable.
