“Unfurling Hope” Art Print
This print is from a high quality scan of the original painting called "Unfurling Hope" This painting was such a blessing to create. After several wild and flowing layers of paint, I added the illustrations while sitting on the front porch with my kids (during homeschool observations). All of the botanical motifs were inspired by plants growing on the land around my home in the Southern Appalachian Mountains. The feather was the final touch inspired by the hawk that flew over while I was working on it. I looked up hawk spirit medicine and it had to do with vision. The title was inspired by the ferns that I love to watch unfurl. This is part of the "Growing Season" collection of paintings. This was inspired by the dragonfly story I read at my mom's memorial (shared in long description below). The text in this painting reads "the treasure inside echoes through the hands of time" and feels like a lovely tribute in memory of our loved ones. The original painting was a collaboration with my Grammie, who is in her 90's! The journal also has a small pocket sewn into the front cover when it is being made.
