Weave seems to be a word for my life… maybe for you, too, in some way? It has come up in many forms over the years for me… from learning about the ‘tapestry’ and web of life as a child to learning to crochet with my mom and Grammie to sewing quilts for my boys with my mom just before she died to the spider webs I am so drawn to around our home (preferable outdoors). I notice the shimmering threads often all around me. Creating this fun mixed-media painting made me smile as I added little symbolic touches, prayers and blessings and let it be.

Part of the Secret Garden Series - Using old seed packets in the early collage layers after planting seeds in the garden. This one is named after the dancing girl painting that was hidden within the layers and the painted lady runner bean seed packet that was used. An image of the first painting that was then collaged and painted over as a 'secret' will also be sent with the original. This painting was shared in the June solstice Thrive True ezine from 2016 paired with a poem. A printout of that page with the poem will be sent as well.

This one tells a very personal and healing story for me. It is about reclaiming our joy, worth, and pure presence. Seems fitting after the journey to finish my book about dancing with delight, livening up, and letting our hearts sing. There are 2 versions of this one available as art prints and printed on various items in my Redbubble Printer shop because I scanned it before adding the dragonflies to the original.

This painting is on a lovely deep wrapped gallery canvas with bits of sparkling "fairy dust!" ;) I used metallic gold paint that shimmers along with sparkling glitter in a few areas which makes the original shine in a way that prints do not. This original intuitive painting made me think of stairways to heavens in memory of our loved ones that have gone before us.

“Memorial Garden Dance” Print

I changed the charity after learning how little of the donations to March of Dimes went towards their mission. My twin boys were born 3 months early so that hit home for me. Thankfully, they are thriving teens now! “Ubuntu”

I looked up one night while pausing with this painting and wondering what to do next. I saw praying hands in front of me on the shelf... which led to this. 💞 I do so love when a marvelous mess of paint magically turns into something I adore and appreciate deeply... that is what I call the "magic and medicine found in art" (which is an online course I'll be hosting at some point... the vision has been with me a while and evolving). It's an interesting mix of happy accidents and trusting the inner muse and messenger and the strength and compassion of a healing heart. 💖 It is a painted prayer for all of us. I feel that along with prayers, we are responsible for our actions. I do my best to live as freely and fully as I can in honor of those who's lives have seemed to short ~ May we live gracefully, joyfully, wonderfully, beautifully, playfully, gratefully.

Restoring sight is one of the most effective ways to relieve suffering and reduce poverty." This is another cause that hits home for me. Both of my boys are partially color blind and one of them needs strong glasses to see much beyond what he can reach with his hands. There is so much beauty in this world to be seen.
