Feeling Full (and Pickled!)

Ahh…. I invite you to take a deep, deep breath with me…. breathe in the blessings.

I’m writing this from my front porch on a windy, drizzling day (there are even a few misty drops on my computer screen!). Earlier, I stepped outside to do my morning D.A.N.C.E., which I share all about in my book, The Girl who Dances with Delight. I felt my favorite wind chimes echo through my body with the wind in my breath. I walked down to the end of my porch where the woods reach out to almost touch the porch railing. I greeted the wind with arms wide open. I let it blow my hair wild like the dancing leaves on the open arms of my tree brothers and sisters. I closed my eyes for a moment and remembered many marvelous moments spent on boats when I lived in the islands. The drizzle even felt like saltwater spray. I opened my eyes to enjoy the same feeling right here in these ancient mountains as the water kissed my skin and the wind lifted my spirits. I let myself just be right here and now for a few magic moments… to breathe in the blessings, to accept the gifts in the present, to feel full and fortunate, free and fabulous. I remember that the moon is at it’s fullest about now even though I haven’t seen it since the dark clouds moved in last night. I’ve heard this May full moon is sometimes called a Full Flower Moon (or Milk Moon or Mother Moon). I feel myself opening and blossoming.

I’ve often enjoyed celebrating my blessings and giving thanks on a full moon…. feeling full… while painting or journaling as an offering of thanks and honoring my blessed life. This morning, I don’t feel a need to produce anything. I just pause to accept the presents and be present. Ahh… this feels like such an easy and delightful full moon ritual… taking just a few minutes to feel full! My mind starts to wonder and I let it… I start writing in my head because I want to share the feelings of fullness and freedom to just be blessed for a few minutes. I spy a bright ruby in the distance as I see Mr. Cardinal in a tree. I’ve enjoyed another ruby earlier this morning when I picked a plump little strawberry that burst with flavor on my tongue. I’ve also accepted the blessing and refreshment of a mint leaf covered in tiny raindrops. I’ve enjoyed the serenading of many birds singing and the trees whispering and whistling in the wind. I see raindrops sparkling like jewels all around me. I remember how fascinating this wide, wild wonderful world is! I remember that I am one of the facets and part of this wild and sacred wholiness, which makes me feel fascinating, too. I keep breathing in the blessings and feeling full and letting go of longings and limits.

I think of the song about being a fortunate son and decide that I am willing to be a fortunate one! I let the wind and water flow through me with ease and gladness. I celebrate the beauty and blessings, the presents and presence, all around me and within me. I am blessed from the inside out and the outside in. I enjoy feeling full and free and fabulous! I’ll keep opening my presents and presence. I let the wind of graceful wonder fuel and fill my sails.

These few moments for me were the space between checking a week’s worth of my kids’ homeschool work and one of them falling down and getting banged up and needing attention for his injuries! It was before running errands, doing more proofreading, and planning meetings.  I can choose to live the story of a mundane, middle-age mom trying to build a business or the life of a magical, magnificent, mystic momma sharing my gifts! Later the same day, I got in a bit of a pickle! I was loading my car after grocery shopping when the giant pickle jar in a fabric bag broke… flooding out from the very back of my car and onto my feet in flip-flops. I just had to laugh and admit that sometimes my life is also a bit of a mess! I drove home smelling like dill pickles and tried to ‘resolve’ the situation with carpet cleaner and so it goes…

I invite you tell your own story. I invite you to take a few moments today to feel full and fascinating amidst any messes and the rest of the day.

I’d love to hear about your fullness in the comments for this post! What are you breathing in? What are you celebrating? What are you opening? What are you enjoying? Share the beauty and blessings, your presents and presence, the sweetness and fullness! 🙂

Beautiful Blessings,

Jules

The inspiration card shared above is from the Soul Songs deck. The original painting was done on a full moon to celebrate blessings and give thanks. I’ve started thinking of the decks as blessing cards since I often paint prayers and paired the paintings with words from a word collection that I reference for weaving blessings into creations. The card decks are available in the gift shop at: ThriveTrue.com/product-category/carddecks You can sign-up for the Heart to Heart newsletters to receive a coupon for $5 off any deck! I also share a monthly card pick in each Heart to Heart letter.

The book, The Girl who Dances with Delight, is now available for a pre-order special sale offer with bonus gifts at: ThriveTrue.com/product/dancebook
