So thrilled to be Celebrating Life & the Art of Gratitude with 8 other lovely artists.
I’ll be featuring an interview and info about each artist’s creative projects leading up to the start of the e-course on October 4th. Chasity Heck is today’s featured artist and has the joy of offering the content and projects for the eight week of the course.

Fellow contributing artist, Lara Cornell, set up the following interview questions and these are Chasity’s replies.
Lara: What are you most grateful for?
Chasity: I am, above all else, grateful for God’s all-encompassing and compassionate love for me. I am so thankful that He loved me enough to send His son for me so that I can be forgiven of the times when I sin against Him. I am thankful for the perfect and eternal home that He has provided for me and I look forward to the day when I can be there reunited with my sister…. forever and ever with the rest of my family.
*** Julia: I feel compelled to add that this is a diverse group of artists, that this course is not based on any particular religious beliefs or teachings and that ALL people are welcome to join us, regardless of culture, traditions, or beliefs. Chasity is sharing her personal feelings in response to the interview questions. <3 There’s opportunity to invite whatever speaks to you into your art of gratitude projects and practice.
Chasity: I am also so so SO grateful for my beautiful family ~ for my supportive and patient (and gorgeous) husband and my sweet, kind girls. They fill my heart with crazy amounts of joy and wonder.
Lara: How do you prefer to show your gratitude? (do you have any traditions?)
Chasity: My favorite way to show gratitude is to perform random acts of kindness for others. There is nothing more fulfilling than forgetting my own selfish wants and concentrating on someone else. It adds the most brilliant sunshine to the cloudiest day!
Lara: What are your favorite fall season traditions?
Chasity: I am always so excited to pull out the scarves and sweaters and boots for fall. I love going hiking in the woods … eating little autumn apples and listening to the crunch of leaves under my feet. We always take our family vacation in the fall. The summer crowds are gone…. the weather is wonderful… the leaves have started changing. It’s most most favorite tradition that I have~ above any and all traditions.
Lara: Do you have any favorite fall season art/crafts/etc…
Chasity: I haven’t ever embraced any particular craft just for fall but of course, I love to open the windows and doors on a beautiful fall day and get lost in the peace of painting. The light during a fall day is so golden and perfect… and that gentle coolness in the wind….
ahhhhh. I love it.
Lara: Why did you decide to be part of this group of artists for this project?
Chasity: I have tried to make a life centered around gratitude and joy-seeking since I lost my sister to cancer 4 years ago. It’s how I keep myself in a happy, thankful state that is good for myself and for my family. Being part of this course with those same intentions seemed like a perfect fit. I am so thankful to be a part of this art course along with these other beautiful, caring women. What a blessing!
Week 8 * A Grateful Girl * Art, Heart, & Soul with Chasity Heck
In this class, you will be painting a mixed media portrait of a darling, whimsical girl who reflects your sweet and joyful inner-self.
We will be creating a beautiful background of layers and colors using some fun, easy, creative techniques.
From there, we will then add in a gorgeous little girl that is blooming with joy along with some meaningful words of gratitude that really speak to what is in your heart.
We will also be on a week-long soul journey together, reflecting on mantras like: learning to follow our hearts, cherishing our journey, and believing in ourselves. We will have daily journal prompts to work through which will help us find the path we were meant to be traveling. And finally, we will have a daily creativity activity to help reinforce what we’ve been learning about ourselves and how to live to our fullest potential. Join us now
Chasity and I are in many of the same online art groups and it’s been such a sweet blessing to get to know Chasity better while collaborating on this course. Like Chasity, gratitude has been a huge part of healing my heart when coping with grief. She made an awesome video about gratitude that reached in and touched my grateful heart. I’m really looking forward to creating a gratitude girl with Chasity full of art, heart, & soul! 🙂 <3
