You’re invited to gather around the hearth for studio story time! I love that the word hearth contains both the words heart and earth while also symbolizing the warmth of home or community around a fire. In this case, the fire is symbolic for sharing sparks of inspiration, wisdom, wonder, and creativity. I’ve been thinking about the idea of symbiotic relationships a lot this year. I hope that everything I share may be symbiotic, that is mutually beneficial, for you and me.

So, I’m hosting these new creative courses to explore together through Studio Stories. This is a natural blend of a love for books and art. These offerings are a combination of book club, journal prompts, and art projects. The book of the month is the inspiration for the art explorations. I started doing this myself earlier this year and thought others might enjoy the approach as well. Some of the book selections take us on journeys with well known artists like Georgia O’Keeffe, Van Gogh, and Picasso. Other books may take us on adventures through fantastical lands. Each offering will include art video explorations as well as book prompts. I’d love to have you join me! Click option below to learn more.

All 7 Sessions Special

Starts January 1, 2020

Starts November 11, 2019

The first book selection takes us on a journey with Picasso, Klimt, Monet, O’Keeffe, and other well known artists. This one is based on a picture book that is a short and easy read for the busy holiday time of year. It goes well with the winter season and also makes a great gift! Each offering includes art video explorations as well as book prompts. Books are not included and need to be borrowed from a local library or purchased separately.

The first selection of 2020 takes us on a journey with Vincent Van Gogh, his family, and other well known artists. This one is based on a historical novel and the many letters quoted within it. It’s a great choice for strengthening our own voices as it dives deep into Van Gogh’s desire to find his voice and grow as an artist.

Suitable for all levels of experience from beginners to more experienced painters who want to loosen up with your creative process. Participants are welcome to watch the videos and do the suggested activities in whatever time works best for you in this self paced offering. You can also download all of the videos to save (so no worries if you need to come back to it later).
