It was only 34 degrees this morning, yet I still found a few late bloomers to commemorate the 1 year anniversary of the Born to Bloom Bright book today!
Even though it hasn’t been a best seller by any measure, I’m still celebrating. And I only mention that fact to acknowledge that there’s more to it than that. Rather than push it into the world with paid advertising or an expensive tour, it has been an offering.
Aside from a few formatting challenges, it was a true joy to write and co-create. It was wonderful to get to work with so many artists that I admire deeply. The fabulous featured artists are Carol Iyer, Faith Evans-Sills, Flora Aube, Flora Bowley, Jessica Ruth Freedman, Joy Liu, Judith Schaller, Katharina Lucia, Kelly Siegel, Lily Sol, Michelle Lee, Nathalie Cappelletti, Nippinonni, Rosalina Bojadschijew, Shruti Gautam Dev, Susan Nethercote, Tracy Verdugo & Wyanne Thompson.
The book is rooted in love, reverence, and wonder. The tiny seed of an idea was tended so it could grow into something tangible and nourishing. For anyone that has put in the effort to nurture similar projects, especially if you haven’t been recognized with external accolades, I want to say “Bravo to You!” for showing up and following through! Keep tending the seeds of your dreams and bloom anyway.
The art, messages, and energy in this book continue to nourish and encourage me, particularly through times when I feel down or dull. I hope it does the same for the sweet souls that have brought it into your homes and lives. There is still so much potential, abundance, and vitality in the world. The plants continue to inspire, teach, and sustain me.
May we enjoy, embody and fully appreciate the natural beauty within and around us as we grow, bloom, and thrive. May we trust and value our presence within the great Tree of Life.
As the book says, “I am a flowering garden, a bird of paradise…”
