* The Stars Still Shine * The original mixed-media painting and phrase was inspired by one night, when sitting on the back porch talking to my mom (after her death), I said, “I really miss the sparkle in your eyes.” I saw one of the brightest shooting stars I’ve ever seen right at that moment. So this little saying has a very special meaning to me. I’ve made it available this way in case it might comfort others as well. The text was digitally added after scanning the original painting and reads: “the stars still shine”

I keep a guest book in our home and it's so fun to go back and read what visitors have said in the past. My kids and I use them for personal gratitude journals and quote collections. I also use one similar to this for Thanksgiving as a combination guest book and gratitude journal that can be easily taken with me to the celebration, whether at my home or elsewhere, so everyone can add what they are thankful for over the years. The journals measure approximately 4 x 6 inches. The paper pages are slightly smaller inside. I like the texture of ripped edges so the pages inside vary slightly and have some purposely torn edges.
