This painting was such a blessing to create. After several wild and flowing layers of paint, I added the illustrations while sitting on the front porch with my kids (during homeschool observations). All of the botanical motifs were inspired by plants growing on the land around my home in the Southern Appalachian Mountains. The feather was the final touch inspired by the hawk that flew over while I was working on it. I looked up hawk spirit medicine and it had to do with vision. The title was inspired by the ferns that I love to watch unfurl. This is part of the "Growing Season" collection of paintings.

In this course, I share how I created the “Young at Heart” series of 4 playful paintings inspired by the simple joys of childhood. Various toys and scribbles were used while creating these fun paintings. This is also a great project to do with kids!

This intuitive painting made me think of stairways to heavens in memory of our loved ones that have gone before us.

The original painting this is printed from was inspired by the sparkling sunshine on the creek water by our home and the curling vines during a winter walk along with an idea I heard from Ram Dass that we may “live in love.” For such a seemingly simple piece, it has sparked quite a bit of wonder. This one is named after the dancing girl painting that was hidden within the layers and the painted lady runner bean seed packet that was used. An image of the first painting that was then collaged and painted over as a 'secret' will also be sent with the original. This painting was shared in the June solstice Thrive True ezine from 2016 paired with a poem. A printout of that page with the poem will be sent as well.
